Cookies and browser storage

What the Children's Home Hub stores in your browser and why. We do not use advertising cookies or marketing tracking.

Overview

The Children's Home Hub uses browser local storage to remember your tool data and preferences. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing tags or third-party tracking pixels.

This page explains what browser storage we use, why we use it, and how you can manage it.

Cookies we use

CHH does not set any cookies of its own. Our hosting platform may set essential technical cookies required for the site to function, such as authentication session tokens. These are strictly necessary for the service you have requested and do not require consent.

We do not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies that require consent, or third-party tracking cookies.

Browser local storage used by My Hub

When you use My Hub tools, the information you enter is saved in your browser's local storage on your device. This data does not leave your browser and is not transmitted to CHH or our hosting provider.

The following local storage keys are used:

None of these keys contain personal data. They contain operational information you have entered into the tools (such as visit dates, staff names you have created, or training records). This data is classified as user-requested functionality and does not require consent under cookie regulations.

Analytics

CHH records anonymous analytics events when you use tools or resources, such as "tool started", "tool completed", "workspace opened" and "resource bookmarked". These events help us understand which tools and resources are useful.

Our analytics do not set persistent identifiers in cookies. Analytics events are processed by our hosting platform and are not shared with advertising networks.

Analytics data is classified as analytics (non-identifying). It does not track you across other websites and does not require consent under current cookie regulations. If this changes, we will update this page and provide a consent mechanism.

Managing your browser storage

You can clear all CHH tool data at any time using the "Clear CHH data" function in My Hub. This removes all CHH-prefixed local storage keys.

You can also clear local storage through your browser settings. This will remove all tool data, bookmarks and preferences.

Clearing local storage does not affect any information you have submitted through forms (newsletter, feedback, consultant applications), as that data is stored on our servers, not in your browser.

Backup files

My Hub allows you to export a backup of your tool data as a JSON file. This file is downloaded to your device and is not transmitted to CHH. You are responsible for storing the backup file securely. The backup contains only CHH-prefixed local storage keys and does not include personal data from forms.
