Research and insight

Original CHH research, sector surveys, reports and data, built to give the children's residential care sector an evidence base it can trust.

Why CHH conducts research

The children's residential care sector needs an evidence base it can trust. CHH conducts original research into workforce, recruitment, retention and the realities of running children's homes.

Research findings are kept separate from opinion. When CHH publishes results, the methodology, sample size and limitations are published alongside them, so the sector can scrutinise the work.

Current research projects

CHH research projects in progress. Findings are published only when the analysis is complete and verified.

How CHH approaches research

CHH states sample sizes clearly and distinguishes survey responses from sector-wide conclusions. Limitations are explained, not hidden.

Methodology is published alongside findings so the sector can see how conclusions were reached. CHH does not claim academic peer review unless it genuinely exists.

Taking part

You can join the CHH Research Panel to be notified about new surveys, opportunities to contribute to research, and published findings. The panel is separate from the general CHH newsletter.

Integrity of our research

CHH does not fabricate research figures. Sample sizes, methodology and raw data are published alongside findings, so the sector can scrutinise and trust the work.
